I’ve been following the FitBit craze very closely and would choose the Force, as I think it’s more attractive and normal looking. I also love the UI of FitBit dashboard and the metrics that it tracks. I currently have a Flex, but I like the opportunity to track more metrics and also see my results on the actual band, in addition to the upcoming updates to include mobile notifications. When looking at other ways I’m working to achieve my goals, I use MyFitnessPal quite frequently and have asked for the FitBit Aria for Christmas.
Nick Jerkovich says
The Fitbit Aria looks like it would be perfect for the P90X program I’m doing right now. I’m trying to get down to below %15 body fat. I’ll have to look into one of those for Christmas as well! I completely agree with you about being able to see real results right on the band. One of the things I dislike about my Jawbone UP is the fact that I have to take it off and plug it into my iPHONE every time I want to see results. The force makes this super easy. Plus you get the watch.

Thanks for the oportunity!Happy to have found your site- never owned an activity tracker, would be awesome to!And thanks also to the info and advices for choosing one!
Nick Jerkovich says
You’re welcome! I wanted a chance to help someone with their fitness/heath goals right in time for the New Years! Good luck and thank you for stopping by!
Chris Knopff says
Nike is losing out on my decision solely due to its lack of support for Android. Many of my options involve that mobile service. I’d love to see what it would be like and perhaps help to motivate me in my own health.
Nick Jerkovich says
One of the ways my Jawbone UP has motivated me to hit my daily goals is the competition between friends. The Fitbit Force and the Nike Fuelband SE both allow you to do this as well. It’s really awesome to try and motivate others by setting a good example yourself. It’s a reminder that not only you, but other people want to see you hit your goals too.
Thanks for reading and good luck with the giveaway!

I’d have to I’d go with the fitbit force just because it is able to give you a greater idea of your progress. The Force is able to track your sleep which I really like.
Indrani says

I have been using a polar heart rate monitor (with chest strap) to keep track of my workouts throughout my 70 pound (so far) weight loss journey. I absolutely love my device, but now that I am so close to my goal weight, I am really looking for something to keep track of all of my activities, day and night. I sometimes lack motivation and would love to see just how much I really am moving, aside from my normal workouts. I also use Myfitnesspal for food tracking, which is a phenomenal app that has helped me reach my goals and keep me accountable. So I am looking for a tracker that will work with that as well. My husband has used a fuelband, but it does not offer the sleep tracking and seems a little bulky for me. I am really interested in the the Jawbone Up 24 or Fitbit Force. They both offer the sleep tracking that I would like to monitor as well as better info on the app. I would obviously choose the Force if I were the winner of this giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity to win one!
Nick Jerkovich says
I have the original Jawbone UP and I absolutely love it. The one thing I can say about the Jawbone activity trackers it the accuracy of the tracking is pretty much spot on. The sleep tracking is the most impressive. I feel like its the most accurate of all the activity trackers currently on the market. It knows exactly when I fall asleep, if I woke up in the middle of the night (how many times), and accurately tracks the light sleep vs deep sleep. The only thing that took a while to get used too was wearing it while I was sleeping. After a few nights it wasn’t too bad. Just make sure and keep track of the cap. I’ve never lost mine and I’ve had it for over a year, however a lot of people have complained about how easy it is to lose when taking off coats or large sweat shirts. All in all, just be mindful of the cap as much as possible. Thank you so much for reading my website and good luck with the contest!!!

At this point I do not know which one I would choose. I’ve been looking at all the activity monitors as of late. All have been good when answering my questions on how well these will work with someone who uses a wheelchair. I want to lose about 30lb and would love either of these watches for motivation. FitBit and Nike have contacted me and assured me they would work and track me pushing my wheelchair. I also asked if pushing would get counted as steps or just tracked as burning fuel. I’m hoping either or would work and would be elated to win either watch. My goal is to lose the weight and blog about it and hope to encourage others with disabilities.
Nick Jerkovich says
First of all, thank you for visiting my website. You have already inspired me to continue on my journey to health and fitness. I would love to read your blog if you decide to go through with it! If I could choose, it would be the Fitbit Force. I wear the Flex everyday (work, school, etc.) and I love it! I love how it syncs up with your phone, shows you what you are like in your sleep, put in a food plan, and so much more!! But with the Force, you can actually see how many steps you’ve taken, the time, calories burned, etc. I just wish they came in different colors, other than Slate & Black. But, I know Fitbit will probably come up with something 🙂
Nick Jerkovich says
I agree, they should add more colors. I actually just bought mine and I’ll be doing a video review here shortly. I’m letting my friend who is a nurse wear it around for a few days so we can see how many steps she does in a shift. I’m guessing it’s going to be quite a bit! It would be super cool to see what jobs have the most step counts during a shift or maybe even weekly/monthly step counts. Jobs like military, nurses, police officers, firefighters, etc… would all be awesome to see.
Bryant Collins says
See, that would be a fantastic idea!! Having one for jobs like that. Or for Olympicians, if they are allowed to wear it. I know my mom could use one because she is police officer, and my uncle is a firefighter. I just love exercising so much 🙂
By the way, how did you nurse friend do with the Force?
Shivam says
would love the fitbit force.. love the look and it’s simplicity and not to metion it’s great functionality
Kirk says
I have been using the Jawbone Up for a while and never really got the hype for the Nike Fuel (plus go Android). I like all the functions of the Jawbone Up and would love to try the Fitbit Force. I keep saying to my friends that I wish they would just make one of these things that had a watch feature so I didnt have to wear two things on my wrists. I like the look of the Force and would love to get my hands on one so I can give it a spin. I feel like the charging port on the underside of the band may get a little grimy and uncomfortable with prolonged use but hey that’s speaking from no use knowledge. Hopefully I’ll get to try it out and report back.
Nick Jerkovich says
Hey Kirk thanks for signing up. I’ve been saying the same thing forever, give me an activity tracker, a heart rate monitor, and a watch all on my wrist. They say watches are a dying trend but I wear one everyday and I feel like a lot of people still do. Once they can perfect the smart watch, I think that will be my next gadget buy.
Shanna says
I’ve never tried an exercise gadget to track my activity. I plan to walk as close as possible for me to reach 3,000 miles.
Endless Summer says
Thanks for the great giveaway! Fingers crossed!
I would choose Nike Fuelband if I won, mostly because I’m loyal customer of Nike! Now I’m using Nike+ Run app on my iphone to track my running… Oh well, at the moment I’m not running because my injured leg must heal first, but when it does, I’ll be so happy to do it again!

Teri Selix says
I would like the Fitbit Force. I already use the Flex and love it but the readout is just the flashing lights. The force would allow for better tracking or my activities.
Erin says
I’m not sure which I would pick yet but I have two goals this upcoming year: Run my first 5k and lose 30#. I have a hip injury that really held me back this year but its getting better. Hope I get to use one of these.
Nick Jerkovich says
Have you checked out the couch to 5k routines? It’s very popular and extremely easy to start out with and build your way up. This will give you some direction and guidance. They also have an app as well. Hope this helps and thanks for signing up! Good luck!
Patrice says
I would choose the fitbit force because I’ve had a good experience owning a fitbit before and it helps motivate me to meet my daily fitness goals. Using it as a wristband makes it more accessible for me to check my progress. It’s also sleek as a watch. I used to own a fitbit zip and it has helped me stay active by checking my progress. The only downfall was that it’s so small and easy to lose when I clipped it on my bra strap 🙁 I lost it somewhere and sometime between the parking lot of a store, work, or grocery shopping. I liked that the information from the fitbit syncs to myfitnesspal app to keep me in check alongside from logging my food on the app.
Beth says
If I win I would choose the Fitbit Force. This item was the favored tracker this year, as no stores seem to have any in stock. My company has an incentive program to stay fit, and I would love to be able to have this device in 2014 to keep me motivated by helping track my exercise stats. Thank you for the chance and good luck to all with their health and exercise goals for 2014!
Tyler Johnson says
Really interested in the Fitbit Force! Need something to help me work off some of these holiday pounds! Also, I think I entered twice accidentally. If one of my entries could be removed, since that’s against the rules, that’d be great!
Nick Jerkovich says
Took care of it Tyler, thanks for the sign up and I definitely understand the holiday pounds issues!! I’ll be back in the gym soon lol. Good luck with the giveaway and thanks for stopping by!
TadamusMaximus says
I have never used/ owned such a convenient personal monitoring device. I have, however enjoyed my Garman Forerunner 301 to track miles run, time, calories, etc., however this technology would improve the constant feedback desired as well as much more. Appreciate the opportunity to ‘step it up’…
Nick Jerkovich says
Thank you for signing up! I like the “step it up”. Might have to borrow that if you’re ok with it 🙂 Good luck with the contest!
